Russian-Chinese Years of Youth Exchanges

The decision on holding of the Russian-Chinese Years of Youth Exchanges 2014-2015 was taken in March 2013 by the President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping and the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, during the official visit of the President of China to Russia. On August 13, 2013 in Beijing the 3-rd meeting of the Sub-Commission on youth cooperation of the Russian-Chinese Committee on humanitarian cooperation was held. The parties discussed the progress in the preparations for holding of the Years of Youth Exchanges. As a result, it was decided to hold the gala opening ceremony of the Years in Russia in spring 2014. On November 22 in the Tauride Palace of Saint Petersburg the Russian-Chinese Forum on culture and tourism was held. It became one of the final events of the Year of Chinese tourism in Russia. During the Forum, Mr. Wang Yang, Deputy Prime Minister of China’s State Council, and Ms. Olga Golodets, Deputy Prime Minister of RF, said that two countries reached a consensus on many aspects of the scope of further cooperation in culture and tourism. Currently both countries are doing preparatory work for holding of the Russian-Chinese Years of Youth Exchanges.
